Dear Members and Supporters,

"The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad." Psalm 126:3

"Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah." Psalm 68:19

On behalf of the FGEA Trustees and our brethren in India, I would wish to express my heartfelt appreciation for your kindness and generosity in giving towards the appeal for the new orphanage building India. In the Lord’s goodness, approximately £44,000 has been raised. So far £3515 has been sent to India to pay for building design, planning and regulatory approvals. These approvals have been granted, and the land is in the legal ownership of FGEA India.

At our meeting on 16 June, the Trustees approved the payment of £13,500 for the stage 1 construction work based on a firm builder’s quotation. It is currently estimated that the remaining construction work will cost a further £18,000. As communicated when the appeal was launched, surplus funds at the end of project will be used towards the on-going costs of the orphanage.

As the original appeal total has been well exceeded, and FGEA has many urgent requests for scripture and literature across Africa and Asia, the Trustees have taken the decision to close the new orphanage building appeal. However, we continue to request your prayers for the orphans and their care, that the funds sent for the construction work are received safely, and that the work will progress to a conclusion that honours and glorifies God.

UPDATE 17th July 2025

After waiting for a period of dry weather to ensure suitable ground conditions, construction work on the foundations commenced.

UPDATE 29th August 2025

During the past month, the region where the FGEA India Orphanage is located has experienced a very heavy monsoon. This has hindered progress on the new orphanage building and even undone some of the initial efforts to lay the foundations.

Brother Joseph has informed us that the work is now able to restart. He asks for prayer both for favourable weather conditions and for continued favour with the authorities, so that the delay will not prevent the project from meeting its deadline—or that, if necessary, leniency will be shown and an extension of time will be granted

UPDATE 6th October 2025

We are thankful to report that, in the Lord’s mercies, the building team has now completed the foundations of the new orphanage. Joseph shares that the work is largely back on schedule, and FGEA gives heartfelt thanks for the prayers of God’s people. Please continue to pray, as the next phase of construction will soon begin. Joseph is now preparing to identify the necessary materials and equipment to make the orphanage both functional and ready for the children’s future home.

UPDATE 7th November 2025

We are thankful for the Lord’s preservation of the orphans in Ponnur following the recent cyclone Montha. There was no serious damage or flooding in Ponnur, and after a week’s lockdown, the orphans could return to school, and the construction work at the new orphanage building has resumed. The final phase of the new orphanage building construction is soon to commence. The Orphanage Building Steering Committee is currently in discussion with Pastor Joseph to gain a precise costing for the fitting out and equipping of the building. We are thankful for the Lord’s gracious hand and for your prayer and generosity.

With Christian regards

Ian Sadler

Chairman - FGEA
